What to expect

  1. Arrive about 20 minutes early. We'll meet you at the airport, introduce your pilot and go over the route.
  2. A short safety briefing. Seat belts, doors, headsets and what you'll see along the way.
  3. Enjoy the flight. Headsets let everyone talk with the pilot, who will point out landmarks throughout the flight.
  4. Back on the ground, share your photos and plan your next flight.

Scenic flight or discovery flight?

Both are great introductions to flying, with a different role for you:

  • Scenic flight: our pilot flies and you enjoy the view. Ideal for groups, special occasions and photography.
  • Discovery flight: you fly the airplane with an instructor beside you, and the time counts toward a pilot license. Learn about discovery flights →

What to bring

  • A camera or phone, with plenty of storage.
  • Sunglasses and comfortable clothing, with layers in cooler months.
  • A government-issued photo ID for each adult passenger.

Weather and timing

We fly scenic tours in good visual weather only. Morning and late-afternoon flights often have the smoothest air and the best light for photos. If conditions aren't right, we'll reschedule at no charge. You can check current conditions at KLWM on our homepage.

Special occasions

Scenic flights make memorable birthdays, anniversaries, proposals and visits from out-of-town guests. Let us know what you're celebrating when you book and we'll help plan the right route and time of day. Looking for a present? Gift certificates are available.

FAQ

Scenic flight questions

How many people can come on a scenic flight?

Our four-seat aircraft can usually carry up to three passengers with the pilot. The exact number depends on passenger weight, fuel and the day's conditions, so tell us who's coming when you book.

What's the difference between a scenic flight and a discovery flight?

On a scenic flight, our pilot flies and you relax and enjoy the view. On a discovery flight, you take the controls yourself with an instructor beside you, and the time counts toward a pilot license.

When is the best time to go?

Clear, calm mornings and late afternoons usually give the smoothest air and the best light. Fall foliage season (late September through October) is especially popular and books up quickly.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We only fly when conditions are right for a comfortable, safe flight. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll reschedule at no charge.

Can I take photos?

Absolutely. Bring your phone or camera. Photos through the windows come out great, especially with the sun behind you.

Can I give a scenic flight as a gift?

Yes. Scenic flights make a memorable gift. See gift certificates or contact us.
